Upon reuniting, there were rumors of the Diplomats being signed to Interscope Records. After sessions with Dr. Dre and Eminem, these rumors appeared to be justified. In the end, however, the only member of Diplomat Records signed to Interscope was Vado. During this period of time, many felt Vado would be the artist who returned New York City to prominence.

During a 2011 interview with MTV’s “RapFix Live,” Irv Gotti admitted he ended up brokering the deal for Vado with Interscope Records. Despite being with Interscope Records for over two years, nothing came out of the deal. Meanwhile, Game has released two albums and Kendrick Lamar also released a high-profile debut album.

XXL spoke to Vado earlier today and he talked about leaving Interscope Records. Vado admitted he should have paid more attention to East Coast record labels. Instead, Vado signed with the Los Angeles-based Interscope Records. Seeing things going nowhere, Vado decided it was time for him to leave the record label.
