Officially, 2004 is a really long time ago, and it’s considered “back in the day,” now. That was when Usher dropped Confessions, the highest-selling album of his career. The famed singer officially made himself a legend with that one.

However, the actual genius behind the album was Jermaine Dupri, as he gave his personal story to Usher, for his use. The two always had insane chemistry, and were making hits, out the gate. But, with that truth, they built an enduring legacy.

Usher, since his 2012 album, has admittedly not been as vibrant as he once was. Since 2012, he’s only had two hits, “I Don’t Mind” and “No Limit,” that really gained radio play, and he dropped the project with Zaytoven, last year. With a new album being discussed, Usher is now looking like he’s really ready to get back to work, hinting at a Confessions 2, as he has his own life stories to build from, now.
