French Montana landed his first true hit with “Pop That.” The first official single from his upcoming Bad Boy Records debut, Excuse My French, the song features Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Drake. “Pop That” has a notable music video, one reminiscent of the infamous rap crew, 2 Live Crew, in Miami.

Uncle Luke is the frontman of the 2 Live Crew and has much love for Miami. The love Luke has for Miami runs so deep, he ran for mayor last year. Even after he lost, Uncle Luke continued his quest to better Miami. The veteran rapper said Diddy, Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, and other rappers should give back to Miami, prompting a diss from Drake.

Recently, MTV caught up with Uncle Luke and he was asked about French Montana’s single, “Pop That.” Uncle Luke said he knew the song was a hit when he heard it for the first time and said he is looking to get paid off it. With Diddy in the vicinity, Uncle Luke promised to have a conversation with the Bad Boy honcho about being compensated on the single.
