U.S Senate Officially Makes “Hip-Hop Celebration Day” on August 11, August 2021 as “Hip-Hop Recognition Month” and November 2021 as “Hip-Hop History Month”

Hip-Hop is definitely the most influential music genre right now. Many of the Internet’s popular trends and dances also stem from hip-hop. Now, the genre is getting its due recognition nationally, in the US.

The Senate chambers officially announced today that August 11 will be “Hip Hop Celebration Day’’, August 2021 is ‘‘Hip Hop Recognition Month’’, and November 2021 is ‘‘Hip Hop History Month.’’

“By unanimous consent, the Senate passed S.Res.331 (A resolution designating August 11, 2021, as ‘‘Hip Hop Celebration Day’’, designating August 2021 as ‘‘Hip Hop Recognition Month’’, and designating November 2021 as ‘‘Hip Hop History Month’’.)

August 11 is perfect for Hip-Hop Celebration Day, as that’s when hip-hop was birthed, in The Bronx. DJ Kool Herc DJed at the “Back To School Jam,” in 1973. Now, hip-hop continues to make its major impact, with these latest holiday announcements by the Senate.
