Known for his music for some time, Tyler, the Creator rose to fame during the summer of 2011. Since 2009, there had been talk of the “New West,” but Tyler, the Creator emerged as the leader of this young hip hop scene. Along with Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, the Creator was co-signed by Game and featured on The R.E.D. Album.

In meeting Tyler, the Creator, the hip hop world also met Odd Future. Tyler, the Creator made the introduction, but Frank Ocean became the breakout star. Headed into 2012, last year, Tyler, the Creator remained relatively silent, meanwhile Frank Ocean became a major mainstream star.

Frank Ocean has ridden Channel Orange into 2013, which is right on time for Tyler, the Creator to plot his comeback. Hot 97’s DJ Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg recently talked to Tyler, the Creator about his new work. Tyler, the Creator talked about Frank Ocean and the Grammys, his use of the “N-Word,” Golf Wang, and Wolf.
