Two people left dead at Fat Tuesday at Mardi Gras World in New Orleans

Fat TuesdayThe early parts of the year are full of celebrations in cities around the United States, as fans flock from Charlotte to New Orleans. CIAA is over and CIAA is beginning, but there was one unfortunate similarity between the two festivities. A shootout ended the final day of CIAA and ruined Fat Tuesday at Mardi Gras.

While all was well during the 2014 NBA All-Star Game festivities, Fat Tuesday was ruined by a shootout this year. The shootout did not only leave a few people wounded, it left two people dead. There were multiple, unrelated, shootings at a rap concert that left two of the people dead.

The hip hop concert included Rich Homie Quan, who had no involvement in the friction. Law enforcement revealed the shootings took place over an hour apart from each other. With one body found by the parking lot of a float, another was found by a sliver car, and the grandmother of one of the victims arrived after she heard something was going on and found her grandson dead, saying he was not the trouble type.

There was another victim who was shot in the shoulder who detailed to the police the man who opened gunfire at 10:15 pm had a “Rick Ross”-styled beard. These are the first shootings of Fat Tuesday in history.
