Throughout his career, Kanye West has enjoyed one constant ambition, to replace Michael Jackson as music’s number one figure. Early on, few saw his vision, and he almost signed with Cash Money. But, he stayed on with Roc-A-Fella Records and got his moment with Jay Z.
Remaining at Def Jam, Kanye West expanded G.O.O.D. Music into a label partnership. Currently, he has Pusha T running that show, as he continues his quest for greatness. Recently, Kanye West scored a major win when he passed Michael Jackson with more Billboard hits.
Kanye West’s new accomplishment led to a new Twitter question being posed. The question is if Kanye West is the new King of Pop, replacing Michael Jackson, which led some to counter with Justin Bieber and Zayn being next up. Then, stronger heads prevailed and went in on the concept of Kanye West, or anyone else, being the “new” King of Pop.
