New York City has produced a lot of stars over the past few years and every year since 2009 has provided a breakout artist. There was Maino in 2009, Nicki Minaj in 2010, French Montana in 2011, and A$AP Rocky in 2012. In 2013, there have been a lot of rappers to have success, but none really breaking out.
Troy Ave is the closest thing New York City has had to a breakout artist in 2013 and he is going forward with plans of dropping his debut album. Because he is from New York City and has love for the city, Troy Ave chose this title for his debut. Yesterday, Troy Ave revealed at least three major features.
Prodigy, N.O.R.E., and Raekwon will appear on the lead single, “New York City.” This is also the title track of the album and Troy Ave put the single cover on Instagram yesterday. Troy Ave told his followers that the single will premiere on the internet on Tuesday, tomorrow.
