The Tory Lanez-Megan Thee Stallion shooting saga dominated headlines again today as this time, Lanez officially faces charges for allegedly shooting Megan in her feet in July. According to TMZ, he was hit with one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. They also added that the Toronto rapper “inflicted great bodily injury” to Megan.

If convicted, Lanez, faces 22 years and eight months in prison. Back in late August, Megan finally came out on Instagram Live and claimed that Lanez was the shooter. With the latest information today, Lanez’ attorney, Jim Lewis, is now downplaying Megan’s claim of Lanez being the shooter.

In a statement to Vulture, Lewis said “The ‘victim’ doesn’t appear to be seriously injured, since I saw her on Saturday Night Live last week,” Megan’s attorney, Alex Spiro, simply replied with “No comment.” This all comes after two weeks ago, Lanez released his ‘Daystar‘ album where he denied shooting Megan.

During Megan’s SNL performance, she performed “Savage” and also uplifted black men and women. She also called out Kentucky Attorney General, Daniel Cameron, for not attempting to charge the officers who killed Breonna Taylor
