A few days ago, Tory Lanez tweeted out “It’s been real,” which appeared to indicate that he could possibly be on his way to jail. This would be regarding possibly violating the protective order issued, where he cannot be 100 feet near Megan Thee Stallion. That ended up happening at the Rolling Loud festival, in Miami.
Tory denied on Twitter that he’s going to jail, but that could change soon. According to Rolling Stone, Tory’s legal team is having “meaningful discussions,” to cut a plea deal, in this case. If no deal is reached by December 3, a preliminary hearing will start.
Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta ended up reportedly confirming that this plea deal is in the works. Tory’s attorney, Shawn Holley, ended up responding to Rolling Stone, and explained how the not guilty plea is still being maintained.
“As in every case, the lawyers for the parties discuss the possibility of resolving the case. This case is no different. That said, our position as to what did and did not happen in this matter remains unchanged, and (Tory Lanez)’s plea of not guilty stands.”
Tory initially plead not guilty last November, to felony assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. The Toronto rapper is also being sued, by a man, who says he was hit by someone, who was driving Tory’s Range Rover, and fled the scene.
In the meantime, Tory is still promoting new music, as he has an 80s album, coming on December 1. This is titled “Alone At Prom.”
