Toronto Rapper, Top5, Who’s Been Wanted on Murder Charge and on The Run, Finally Arrested in LA

Top5 has been a popular rapper in Toronto for a while now, but this year, has been trending due to legal troubles. This was involving the death of 20-year-old Hashim Omar Hashi, in the Toronto area, of North York. The shooting initially occurred on January 31.

Top5 has been on the run for a while now, but has finally been arrested. According to CBC, he was arrested in Los Angeles, on Thursday. He had been arrested on a first-degree murder charge, as well as three counts of failure to comply with bail.

Top5 was originally released from custody in March, and was placed under house arrest, with an ankle monitor. Police ended up revealing though, that he cut the monitor off, and fled.

Hashi was reportedly shot, after going into a parking garage in the Jane Street and Falstaff Avenue area, of Toronto. The charges on the table for Top5 were accessory after the fact to murder, and two counts of failing to comply with probation. The first-degree murder charge upgrade, was handed down in May.
