It’s been a very long time since fans have gotten a new music from Kendrick Lamar. The last time that happened was for the “Black Panther” movie soundtrack in February 2018. Lamar also hasn’t put out his own album since April 2017, which was “DAMN.” Now, it appears that new music from the west coast legend may be arriving very soon.
Top Dawg Entertainment CEO, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, took to Instagram this morning to hint that new music coming on May 7. His caption read “5/7//21 THE WAIT IS OVAH!!!!!! #TDE.” Social media then immediately lit up in excitement as the consensus is that this will be new music from Kendrick. Tiffith’s post displayed a TDE logo with the graphic loading to 100%.
TDE has been winning big as a label lately as the recent success comes from SZA and her “Good Days” single, which dropped on Christmas. That song is almost 2x platinum as it peaked a No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. A new single from Kendrick coming next week would add on to their momentum tremendously as they’d continue to be one of the most dominant labels in the industry.
