Even after thirty years in the game, Too $hort continues to have an impact and he continues to make hits. His nineteenth album, No Trespassing, is currently in the works. Before he announced his latest album, Too $hort was shouted out by current popular Atlanta rapper, 2 Chainz.

2 Chainz was featured on Rick Ross’ “Fuck ‘Em,” and credited Too $hort as his father figure, despite the two not knowing each other. During his interview with XXL, Too $hort said those words meant a lot to him, so he decided to reach out to him. Too $hort said the two have agreed to collaborate in the future.

As the interview went on, Too $hort discussed the Bay Area hip hop scene’s current impact on hip hop and Drake’s “The Motto,” which is heavily influenced by the Bay Area sound.
