Of the many classic R&B groups of the 1990s and 2000s, all of them, even the boybands, owe New Edition come homage. They were the first group to not be brothers and own the game. Their legacy is finally being recounted by BET with “The New Edition Story.”
The cast consists of “Empire” star, Yazz, Luke James, Woody McClain, Caleb McLaughlin, Keith Powers, and Elijah Kelley. Supporting roles are played by Bre-Z, also of “Empire” fame, and La La Anthony. These roles cover the New Edition members and some of their family.
Recently, Sway had them all on “Sway In The Morning,” where they all spoke on the upcoming mini-series. While there, they would also talk about their individual projects. Then, they would do an intense freestyle battle.
