The Weeknd has had a very epic time for himself over the last year. He’s had two number one singles in “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights” at the end of 2019/start of 2020 as well as a top album in “After Hours” in March of 2020. The Canadian superstar also performed at halftime of Super Bowl LV in Tampa this month.

The Weeknd’s Blinding Light’s momentum continues to skyrocket as it has set another Billboard Hot 100 record. It is currently No. 4 on the chart and that now makes it the first song in Hot 100 history to spend 50 weeks in the top 10, according to Chart Data. The music video is also at over 380 million views on YouTube.

Blinding Lights is also currently platinum status in the US. This single also appeared on Weeknd’s “The Highlights” album that was released this month. This is a compilation of all of his greatest hits. The Highlights also quickly became the most streamed album in Spotify history.
