The Weeknd has arguably been the hottest artists in the world over the past year and a half. He’s had two No. 1 hits in “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights” as well as a chart-topping album in “After Hours” in 2020. He’s also fresh off a historic performance at Super Bowl LV in Tampa last month.

Now, the Toronto native continues to win big as he has more platinum plaques coming from the RIAA today. According to Chart Data, he earned six in total. The first was for “Blinding Lights,” which has set the record for being in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a year now. That record is now 7x platinum in the US.

Weeknd also went platinum for the self-titled “After Hours” song as well as “In Your Eyes.” The “Save Your Tears” single also earned its first platinum certification. The Heartless single hit 2x platinum status as well as the After Hours album itself. Many of these hits also appeared on The Weeknd’s “The Highlights” album last month, which was a compilation album of some of his greatest records of his career. That ended up being the most streamed album in Spotify history.
