Earlier this month, The Weeknd delivered his fifth studio album, “Dawn FM.” This project was led by the “Take My Breath” single, and collaborations with Lil Wayne and Tyler, The Creator. Narrations were also provided by Quincy Jones and Jim Carrey.
Dawn FM went on to debut at number two, on the Billboard 200 chart. Weeknd continues to dominate with his streams as well, especially on Spotify. Weeknd has now passed another Canadian superstar, Justin Bieber, for the most monthly Spotify listeners.
Weeknd currently totals 85.6 million listeners per month. Up until this point, Bieber had claimed the top spot, for 190 consecutive days, since July 2021. Weeknd is also the first artist to hit the top spot on Spotify’s monthly listeners chart, nine different times.
Weeknd is still getting millions of streams for his 2020 “After Hours” album as well. That project featured two chart-topping hits, in “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless.”
