Over the last three months, The Weeknd revealed that he’s completed his fifth studio album. This project will reportedly be titled “Dawn.” Now, the Canadian superstar appears ready to release this project ASAP.
Weeknd shared a photo to his Instagram feed, of him texting with La Mar Taylor, co-founder of XO Records. There, Taylor said to Weeknd “Happy New Year brother! What we thinking??” Weeknd ended up revealing that things feel “chaotic,” but music can heal and he is ready to put out the forthcoming album.
“Happy new year! Everything feels chaotic again. Music can heal and that feels more important than another album rollout. Let’s just drop the whole thing and enjoy it with the people… XO.”
The Weeknd had a very solid 2021, as he had another number one song in “Save Your Tears” remix, featuring Ariana Grande. He was also featured on another hit record, in Doja Cat’s “You Right.” August also saw the release of his new “Take My Breath” single as well as “Die For You,” in December.
Weeknd’s last album came in March 2020, with “After Tours.” That was his fourth consecutive number one album.
