Through the years, hip hop has evolved, as has societal norms. More than ever, alternative lifestyles are accepted, even though they are the still the vast minority. Even in hip hop, Mister Cee ended up coming out, and he was met with much support.
Mister Cee had a series of events, where he continued getting into legal trouble for seeking services of transwomen. Finally, it led to an on-air meltdown, where Mister Cee resigned from Hot 97. Support from Ebro led to Cee keeping his job.
Every now and again, Mister Cee is a punchline for jokes, but he is mostly accepted for who he is. Still, Mister Cee is more hip hop than most, and nothing will change that. But, when he offered his hip hop opinion on The Game’s IG, Game fired back at him, hard, making a very insensitive gay joke.
