On #BlackOut Tuesday, a black owned luxury press-on nail designer by the name of @AsiaTheMua went to shoot her shot as she reached out to Teyana Taylor on Twitter to send her some free products. To her surprise she scored. Big.

Asia is a Las Vegas Makeup Artist and Nail designer that has seemingly been going hard with her passions for quite some time with YouTube tutorials, creating gorgeous nail designs and slaying client’s faces. This time last year she posted on her Instagram a photo of a client with a full glammed face done and caption:

“I miss this so much 😩🚶🏽‍♀️☹️ one of the hardest parts of everything has been not being able to do my job. When your job feeds your spirit as well as pays your bills it’s that much harder to be cut off. It’s mind blowing to literally be afraid of doing what you love. Never in a million years would I imagine feeling this way. But I’m being patient guys.”

Referring to the abrupt hault in business caused by the pandemic. Fast-forward to July 7th, 2020 aka “BlackOut Tuesday,” a wildly successful movement that encouraged everyone to support black businesses by keeping the black dollar in rotation within the black community only, and Asia boldly reached out to Teyana Taylor on Twitter to offer her a free box of her luxury press-on nails. She was surprised to not only receive a response from the 2020 Director of the Year Award Winning Bosslady, but actually receiving a Tweet back asking where could the singer/songwriter purchase her products because she wanted to pay full price! Asia jumped right on it expressing her gratitude and quickly sent over her website www.nailedbyasia.com. The rest is history (or HERstory.) After 50K + viewers saw the thread exchange between Asia and Teyana Taylor on Twitter, many wandered over to @AsiatheMUA page and before you know it she was sold out completely.

The power of the black dollar is so real and this is what the blackout was all about.

” The fact that Teyana Taylor is the first order in my queue tomorrow is blowing my fckn mind right now…”

Asia tweeted as she later watched her followers grow not only on her Twitter account, but her Instagram makeup and nail page as well. Teyana showed mad love as she fanned out over Asia’s polish color selections and Asia admitted that she had been listening to Teyana Taylor’s new album when she created them. Now that’s how you manifest.

Big shout out to Teyana Taylor for truly supporting the people – and Huge congrats to the passionate creator we have all been introduced to on her behalf, @AsiatheMUA. Such an inspirational story and we love to see it.
