Tekashi 6ix9ine is expected to be released from prison in August after originally heading to trial in December of last year. He was handed down a 2-year sentence but was given credit for time served. He was taken into federal custody in November of 2019 on racketeering charges and for crimes committed with the Nine Trey Bloods which include murder conspiracy, drugs, and weapons charges.

Prior to getting locked up, 6ix9ine had a promotions deal in place with Fashion Nova. Now, the Brooklyn rapper is facing a lawsuit by the popular clothing brand for $2.25 million, according to TMZ. 6ix9ine was initially supposed to promote the brand on social media and in his music. The problem ended up being that he was taken to prison.

According to court documents, 6ix9ine was given a $225,000 advance and indicted two weeks later. Fashion Nova also believed that his testimony made him look like a bad brand ambassador. 6ix9ine’s team also supposedly didn’t tell FN about what he was being charged with and he never paid back the $225k. It’ll be interesting to see if this gets resolved after 6ix9ine’s release this summer or if a legal battle will still be ongoing.
