Tee Grizzley dropped off his new “Mr. Officer” song a few weeks ago featuring Queen Naija and members of the Detroit Youth Choir two weeks ago which addresses the current state of police brutality in America. Now, the Detroit star is getting ready for another album release.
Grizzley took to his Instagram feed to reveal that his third studio album, ‘The Smartest,’ will be out on June 19. The excitement for Grizzley was real as the announcement on his Instagram read “Thank you God for letting this music save and change my life. “THE SMARTEST 6/19/2020 📚📓😎👨🏾🎓.” The cover art displays an animated photo of him in a classroom with stacks of money, his chain, and even a classmate asleep from drinking too much lean. This release date also falls on the Juneteenth holiday.
The Smartest comes a year after he released his sophomore album, ‘Scriptures.’ This project debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 as it featured the singles “God’s Warrior,” “Locked Up,” and “Sweet Thangs.”
