This afternoon, there is bad news on the battle rap scene. Longtime rap veteran, Tech 9, has died, and he is well-known on his native Philadelphia rap scene, along with on the battle rap pages. Because of his name, many are mistaking him with Tech N9ne, unfortunately.
Both “Tech 9,” this man’s rap alias, and “Tech N9ne,” the name of the more-known rapper, are trending. Just for clarification, the man in the above photo is “Tech 9.” Many fans, due to the similar names, are getting confused, but the Kansas City rapper is still alive.
Sadly, Tech 9, though, leaves an empty place in the battle rap community. This is a scene that has been reeling with losses of some of their premier names. The legacy Tech 9 leaves behind will never be forgotten.
