Northern Virginia, into Washington, DC and the Southern end of Maryland is considered to be the most-progressive area in the entire United States. Even here, there are major signs of bigotry, unfortunately. Just this past week, something terrible happened.

Tara Bokum is a young woman who has recently gone viral, with her recent Facebook post. Sadly, this isn’t some TikTok challenge, or some other fun situation. Instead, this has completely to do with racism and the privilege they say doesn’t exist.

Enjoying a meal with her friend, Tara Bokum found her friend being harassed by the man in the photo above. Approaching the ladies, the man first asked Bokum’s friend what her ethnicity was. From there, he called her a “b*tch,” a “DREAMer,” told her to “get the f*ck out of my city,” and had to be restrained.
