T-Pain went into depression, after Usher told him he f-cked up musicIn 2005, T-Pain came with a different sound, and he took over the game. Not everybody was happy about that, even as T-Pain gained many fans and friends. Despite T-Pain being his friend, he said Usher told him he “kinda f*cked up music,” sending T-Pain into a four-year depression.

T-Pain, from 2005-2009, dropped nothing but hits, and owned the game. While T-Pain said he chose to go on hiatus, many credit Jay-Z for “ending” his career. On his single, “Death of Auto-tune,” Jay-Z said rappers were “T-Pain-ing too much.”

When T-Pain sat down with “This Is Pop,” he spoke on his run on top of the game. He said he became friends with Usher, which is why it messed him up, when he said Usher told him he “kinda f*cked up music,” with auto-tune. T-Pain says this sent him into a four-year depression.
