In a perfect world, the success of Meek Mill would have taken place three years ago and on T.I.’s watch for Grand Hustle Records. Instead, the two rappers’ consecutive prison sentences led to nothing happening. Tired of waiting, Meek Mill wound up returning to the Philadelphia streets.
Meanwhile, T.I. began refocusing on his music, feeling as if owed a debt to the rap game, he released much new music. As T.I. prepares his comeback, his almost-protege is one of the biggest stars in the game. The two rappers have collaborated several times.
Proud of Meek Mill’s success over the past two years, T.I. spoke to Rap-Up about his new project. Calling upon one of rap’s newest stars, T.I. featured Meek Mill on his record, “G Season.” T.I. discussed how the song came together and what it is like seeing Meek Mill in his current position.
