Few rappers ever had a run the way T.I. did, holding the game down from 2003 through 2009. This time consisted of T.I. releasing five albums and an EP, but perhaps he might’ve dropped more albums. What’s amazing about this run is how, in the midst of this, T.I. served two prison stints.
Initially dubbed the Jay-Z of the South by Pharrell, T.I. lived up to it for a while. In recent years, T.I. has dealt with being an aging rapper in a youth-oriented market and he’s seen a decline in interest in his work. Still, T.I. has quite a bit left in the tank, evidenced by his success with “No Mediocre.”
T.I. is continuing his run and he has Paperwork coming soon. This album was initially due in 2013 and was going to be a sequel to 2012’s Trouble Man, but this wasn’t the case. Close to two years since his album release, T.I. has Paperwork due on October 21, according to his Instagram.
