SZA Says She Might “Scrap” Songs on Her Upcoming Album and Start From Scratch

A few days ago, SZA had another online performance, this time, in partnership with Grey Goose. The venue she held her private show at, was at the Wisdome. Her previous show was with American Express, on June 17. Many are ready to see her perform at venues in-person, though.

SZA has also spoken with Women’s Wear Daily about her latest show, along with her upcoming sophomore album, that fans have been waiting years for. Many expected that this project would arrive sometime in 2021, but now, there could be a serious delay. This is with SZA possibly starting over on it.

“I’m actually probably about to scrap all of it and start from scratch,” SZA said. “I think [my fans will] be surprised to know that it’s not what they thought, and it’s not coming when they thought. I hope that they’ll be pleasantly surprised. I’m literally not talking about my album anymore until it’s out in the world. At this point, I’m gonna start jinxing it, and I don’t want to jinx anything.”

SZA has been having massive success with new music lately though, as she put out her “Good Days” single on Christmas. That debuted at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and is 2x platinum now. In April, she appeared on Doja Cat’s latest hit single, “Kiss Me More.” That debuted at number four.
