Over four years ago, SZA dropped a classic debut album, with “Ctrl.” This was led by hits such as “The Weekend,” “Doves In The Wind” ft. Kendrick Lamar, and “Broken Clocks,” ft. Travis Scott.
The Weekend was the most popular record on this album, and it saw massive success, despite not being a lead single. Doves In The Wind and Broken Clocks were also widely popular, and now, these records have achieved more plaques, from the RIAA.
According to Chart Data, Doves In The Wind is platinum for the first time, in the US. This is after selling 1 million units. Broken Clocks is also now 3x platinum in the US. Doves In The Wind currently has over 10 million YouTube views, and Broken Clocks has accumulated over 41 million.
SZA has been on fire lately as well, as her “Good Days” single from Christmas Day 2020, is 2x platinum in the US. She also had a hot feature on Doja Cat’s hit single, “Kiss Me More,” this past spring. Now, the wait is on for SZA’s sophomore album, which has yet to receive an official title and release date.
