SZA Addresses Drake Saying on 21 Savage’s “Mr. Right Now” Song That The Two Dated in 2008; Clarifies That They Actually Dated in 2009 and Nobody Was Underage

Drake dropped a shocking claim during his feature on 21 Savage’s “Mr. Right Now” song from the new ‘Savage Mode 2′ album with Metro Boomin which dropped on Friday. He said that he dated SZA back in 2008 on the lyrics “Yeah, said she wanna f*ck to some SZA, wait. ‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08.”

Shortly after this record was released, fans noticed that she unfollowed Drake on Instagram, which led them to believe that SZA denied Drake’s dating claim. Now, she just took to her Twitter feed to address this situation. She explained that they did actually date in 2009 and not 2008. She explained how Drake said 2008 to use it to rhyme in his verse.

SZA went on to say that nobody was underage at the time, which many thought was the case. She continued that she didn’t want anyone to think the situation was “creepy” but this was all innocent and was “lifetimes” ago.

Both SZA and Drake have also released solid records over the past month. Drake put out his “Laugh Now Cry Later” single featuring Lil Durk which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and SZA made her long-awaited return with her “Hit Different” single featuring Ty Dolla $ign.
