The Summer Walker vs fans saga continues to play out on the internet. It appears that fans are getting fed up with her demeanor and live performances. The Atlanta songwriter just cannot seem to catch a break. While she has cited her social anxiety as the reason behind her reluctance and lack of enthusiasm, it has not stopped the internet from labeling her as an ungrateful, lazy, and entitled artist and performer.
This latest episode comes from a recent appearance at a club in New Jersey. Walker was booed after seeming uninterested in performing for fans in attendance. According to fans, she was standing on a couch in the corner and not engaging with the crowd much. Fans were singing their hearts out while she stood there and not sing along.
According to Summer Walker, the entire fiasco was a case of misinterpretation on the part of the promoter. She took to Instagram and explained what and why everything happened. She claims that she was only booked for a club appearance and hosting, not to perform. She threw the club promoter under the bus stating that he mislead club goers promoting her booking as a performance instead of a walkthrough. Walker explained in several of her posts that she would never sing on a club’s couch and would need a stage to give her fans that experience.
While Summer has done some questionable and disrespectful things to her fan base, I can easily say that this incident was not her fault.
Hey #WeUsNewJersey World Word is @summerwalker was boo’d here in New Jersey over some confusion about if she was supposed to do a show or a walk through. She’s saying that she was booked for a walk through but the promoter promoted it as a show. THREAD 🔊 pic.twitter.com/L26RQ2mLhy
