Summer Walker has had social media on fire over the past two and a half weeks. First, it started with her random breakup with boyfriend and producer, London On Da Track. They got back together a day later during her show in London, England. Then, people clowned her for saying she doesn’t like showers and washes herself in a bowl instead. People also said her set at the Mala Luna music festival was bad as she didn’t even put any effort. The same was said for her set at the Day N Vegas festival this past weekend. There’s also been a social media battle between her and London’s baby mama.
All of these factors might now be a playing a role in Walker contemplating leaving the industry. In a lengthy Instagram post early this morning, she said that the fans don’t deserve her and they can keep the interviews, videos, shows, and photoshoots. Walker says she’s “too real for this s*it” and that she’s just gonna head out. Walker added that people got this “fame s*it” f*cked up and that she’s about to start acting different. Walker even feels that people try to put her down to stay relevant.
Walker did say that she will finish the rest of her tour out. If she’s really serious about quitting music is the big question though. It really does feel like she’s cracking under the pressure of fame. This is what comes with it though. There’s plenty of other starving artists who would love to be in the position she’s in. She just had a very successful debut album with “Over It” in September.
