If only Steve Kerr could have remained healthy for the beginning of last season, and this year’s playoffs. Even with the blown 3-1 lead, he’d be well on his way to being the greatest NBA coach of all-time. General consensus is that Gregg Popovich, of the Spurs, holds that title.
Steve Kerr, though, is one of the people who created the offensive schemes of the Phoenix Suns from 2005-2010. That span of time saw the Suns consistently one of the NBA’s top teams. But, the NBA in that era made sure that style of play never got to the Finals.
Clearly, things have changed since then, as the Golden State Warriors are much higher-octane than those teams. In fact, they became the first team in NBA history to enter the NBA Finals 12-0, as they wait on the winner of the Cavs/Celtics series. With tonight possibly being a closeout game, Steve Kerr spoke to the media about the finals, saying he was unsure if he’d coach then.
