Following the Golden State Warriors’ dominant 2015 season, ending with a championship, fans were excited. The new age of basketball finally won over the NBA. After years of struggle, Steph Curry broke through as league MVP.

Despite winning the championship and playing well in the NBA Finals, the Finals MVP did not go to Curry. It is rare for the franchise player to not win that award after winning the title. But, when he led the squad to an all-time best 73 wins, of course he was expected to win the award.

Unfortunately, the debate of which Warrior would win Finals MVP disappeared when the Cleveland Cavaliers got it together. In Game 7, the game was sealed for Cleveland by the Kyrie Irving three pointer and LeBron James asserted himself in the series. Recently, he spoke with USA Today Sports about the Game 7 loss, saying he will never get over it, and Stephen A. Smith debated this on First Take.
