It was a blink and miss it moment, but Lucious (Terrence Howard) was checking Anika (Grace Byers) out in the closing moments of “Empire,” last week. But, things remain very tense within the Lyon circles. Each of the sons has their own personal drama to deal with.
Hakeem (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) is a father, to Anika’s child, and he is pursuing Nessa (Sierra McClain). But, Andre (Trai Byers) is clearly the man in her life. Meanwhile, Shine (Xzibit) is going all out to take the family down, even working with Tariq (Morocco Omari).
Last week’s episode saw Angelo’s (Taye Diggs) mother, Diana (Phylicia Rashad) make her debut. Surprisingly, she liked Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), but warned her to not hurt her son. The interactions, onscreen, between Phylicia Rashad, Terrence Howard, and Taraji P. Henson were memorable.
