South Carolina volunteer fire department chief tells firefighters to stop responding to Black neighborhoods, and they will eventually kill each other, and fake news will have nothing to report

In South Carolina, there was controversy, as the Lancaster County Fire Department chief made controversial comments. Via Facebook, the fire department chief told firefighters to not respond to calls from Black neighborhoods. This sparked much outrage.

The fire department chief, for Lancaster County, South Carolina, faced much backlash. Taking to Facebook, the man said firefighters shouldn’t respond to calls from Black neighborhoods, and then “they’d all kill each other,” leaving “fake news” nothing to report. Many are worried firefighters now won’t respond to Black neighborhoods, during times of emergency.

Since then, the police chief has offered an apology, for his comments.
