On August 20, Megan Thee Stallion shocked social media. She revealed on Instagram Live that Tory Lanez was the one who shot her in her feet following a Hollywood Hills house party in July. Lanez had remained silent on social media since. However, last week he DMed HotNewHipHop.com to deny that his streams had fallen by 40% after Megan finally called him out.
Lanez was initially charged with a felony in carrying a concealed weapon that night. In addition, the LAPD is also considering a felony assault charged against him. Now, there is concern starting to grow about why the Toronto rapper still hasn’t been charged, according to sources close to Page Six. They also believe that this case would’ve been sped up much quicker if the victim was white.
“This case is open and shut and I’m very concerned that we’re still lingering here,” a source exclusively told Page Six on Wednesday. “It’s not being treated with the same level of resources and focus as if it was a white college student.”
Page Six added that the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has already received the evidence needed to go on with the case. This includes witness statements, text messages, a 911 call, footage, along with medical records. Megan had also originally planned to never give up any names. However, people around Lanez spread so many lies, according to her such as his publicist, that she had to let the world know.
“Megan wasn’t going to name names, she wasn’t going to go there — she wasn’t planning on talking to police. She was protecting herself. People in her camp and in Tory’s camp shut everyone down so fast you could barely blink. But there were lies that were being spread and she wasn’t going to stand for it.”
It will definitely be interesting to see if anymore charges are brought onto Lanez. He has been getting cancelled all over social media in the meantime though and still has yet to make any public appearances on social media.
