It has been five years since Soulja Boy burst onto the scene. Despite not being a favorite with critics, the position Soulja Boy holds can never be taken away from him. Soulja Boy was the first hip hop artist to gain fame through the internet. In the time since his run atop Billboard, Soulja Boy has returned to this internet which made him famous.
Soulja Boy has dominated the mixtape scene over the past two years. During the fall the fall of 2010, the Atlanta emcee released his album, The DeAndre Way. Since then, Soulja Boy has released a series of mixtapes. Through these mixtapes, Soulja Boy has remained relevant and one of hip hop’s most-discussed figures.
While the mixtape grind will never stop, Soulja Boy will soon be back with an official studio album, which will be named Promise. Soulja Boy first announced Promise last fall and he is now preparing to release the album. During an interview with DJ Skee for Skee TV, Soulja Boy discussed this and much more.
