Puerto Rican actress Gina Rodriguez has been lit up by social media over the past 24 hours after posting a video of her getting her makeup done and rapping the n-word in the Fugees’ hit single “Ready Or Not.” The lyric was “Believe me, frontin’ n*ggas give me heebie-jeebies.”
Since then, Rodriguez has given weak apologies by saying all she was doing was listening to one of her favorite Fugees songs. A second “apology” was issued where she said “The word I sang, carries with it a legacy of hurt and pain that I cannot even imagines “Whatever consequences I face for my action today, none will be more hurtful than the personal remorse I feel.” Now, more evidence is surfacing of Rodriguez using the n-word freely.
A throwback video of Rodriguez in a scene on a YouTube skit for “North Side Comedy” from over seven years ago is spreading like wildfire. In the scene, she is with a black man and aggressively says “You heard me. Take a lap n*gga.” As many know, if you’re not black, don’t say the n-word. It looks like Rodriguez didn’t get the memo back and and now too.
