A few days ago, Silento was shockingly arrested after reportedly shooting and killing his cousin, Frederick Rooks, in DeKalb County, GA. He is currently being charged with murder. Police said that Rooks was originally killed back on January 21 with eight shell casings being found at the scene.
TMZ reported that authorities were able to use footage from the scene which captured one shot being fired and multiple vehicles fleeing the scene. Now, his publicist, Chanel Hudson, is speaking out and is asking for prayer and positive energy in the midst of Silento’s murder case. She also detailed how the “Watch Me Whip/Nae Nae” rapper has been battling mental health struggles over the last few years.
“Please send my client Silento some positive vibrations,” said Hudson on Instagram. “Over the past several years, Ricky has been suffering immensely from a series of mental health illnesses. We will continue in his efforts of treatment, but we ask in the meantime the public uplift him and his family in immediate prayer & positive energy!!”
“Rick is a beautiful soul and we hope that the same people who came up whippin’ & nay nay-ing with him, continue to support him and lifted in prayer!! God bless [praying hands emoji] any questions or comments please reach out… Thank you.”
In 2020, Silento battled a myriad of other legal woes as well. They include an arrest in September where he was arrested and charged with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon after supposedly threatening people with a hatchet along with an incident in October where he was arrested for speeding at 143mph.
