Shawty Lo talks, in-depth, about G-Unit Records

Initially, it appeared as if Shawty Lo signed a solo deal with G-Unit. However, as time went on, it was revealed Shawty Lo had placed the entire D4L label under G-Unit.br /br /With the signing making news, 50 Cent came out and confirmed the story. But, when 50 Cent spoke about the deal, he said it was bigger than a record deal. Making several public appearances with Shawty Lo, 50 Cent said the deal was more of a partnership.br /br /50 Cent said the deal includes marketing and promotion and once G-Unit recoups their investment, G-Unit and D4L splits the profits 50/50. Shawty Lo revealed he and 50 Cent had a seven hour business meeting. When he entered the meeting, Shawty Lo thought he was going to sign an artist deal with G-Unit Records, but 50 Cent had much more in mind.br /br /Shawty Lo said 50 Cent listened to his music and watched his videos. After watching his videos and listening to the material, Shawty Lo said 50 Cent viewed him as a boss. As a result, 50 Cent gave Shawty Lo a deal in which he could become a boss. Through his deal with G-Unit, Shawty Lo is the head of D4L Records, retaining full creative control of his record label and his music. Aside from being the head of his label, Shawty will also be scouting for talent in the South on behalf of G-Unit Records.br /br /Through D4L Records, 50 Cent wants G-Unit Records to also become an outlet for the South. Shawty Lo said he had to hire more staff in his time away from the game. Now back, Shawty Lo is focused on developing his artists, Stuntman, La Costra Nostra, Zone 6 and Jai-Jai.
