“Secret” Nominating Committees Reportedly Removed From Grammy Voting Process

Back in late November, the music industry was shocked to find out that The Weeknd wasn’t nominated for any 2021 Grammy awards. This came after an epic year where he had a No. 1 album in “After Hours” and two No. 1 singles in “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless.” Weeknd ended up taking to Twitter to say that the GRAMMYs are corrupt and that he and his fans deserve transparency.

The Weeknd also revealed how the GRAMMYs supposedly have “secret committees.” This was the case and now, they’re being done away with, according to Chart Data.

These committees have reportedly been “eliminated” and this will be the case starting with the GRAMMYs’ next awards show in 2022. The Weeknd is likely very happy about this news as he should have plenty more Grammy nominations coming his way consistently. Recently, he was nominated for 16 Billboard Music Awards for their upcoming show on May 23
