Had it not been for Scarface and the Geto Boyz, Houston hip hop would not have advanced as quickly as it did. It was in the late 1980s when the South originally made their footprint in the game with Scarface and Uncle Luke leading the way. Texas has a new list of all-stars now, as does Miami and South Florida.
However, Scarface still commands respect in the game. It has been a little while since any new music came from the Geto Boyz leader. Headed into the summer, expect that to be among the first changes. Scarface has a few new heaters in the works that he plans to unleash on the game.
While in San Bernadino at the 2013 Paid Dues Festival, Scarface had the opportunity to talk to Hardknock TV. During the interview, Scarface was impressed with the first question, as he explained his writing process. Scarface went on to talk about Rick Rubin, the “Mind Playin Tricks on Me,” and more.
