Saweetie continues to show that she can put out hits consistently as the latest one has been “Best Friend,” featuring Doja Cat. This record was released back in early January and hasn’t slowed down at all. The single went gold in the US last week and now, is about to earn another plaque.
According to Chart Data, Best Friend is now at platinum status in the US as well. This is after selling 1 million units. Currently, the single stands at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The music video for Best Friend is also doing very well as it’s accumulated almost 106 million YouTube views.
Many expect Best Friend to appear on Saweetie’s debut studio album, which hopefully, finally comes out sometime this year. Her last project was her debut “ICY” EP in 2019 which contained the breakout hit single, “My Type.”
Saweetie has also been trending on social media over the last month due to her public breakup from Quavo that was taken to Twitter. She says she felt hurt and betrayed and was even cheated on. Lately, there’s been speculation that Quavo claimed that he repossessed the Bentley he got Saweetie for Christmas but she has since showed off the keys to the luxury car to disprove that.
