Brooklyn rapper, Saigon, has been one of the more socially-conscious rappers over the past few years, as he raps about the negatives of street life. Initially set to debut one year after 50 Cent, Saigon was viewed as the alternative, as he lived the same life, but warned about others following in his footsteps. As a result, the mainstream audience was not as receptive of Saigon as the underground was.
Saigon became a force on the mixtape scene, as he was met with several set-backs with the release of his debut album, The Greatest Story Never Told. Six years after the album was initially set for release, Saigon released the album. Wasting no time, Saigon immediately announced he would release another album before the end of 2012.
Two months stand between the release of Saigon’s next album. Initially, his album was set for release today. While Saigon decided to delay the album for another two months, he will deliver a video today for the viewers. On Facebook, Saigon discussed this new project, saying he was going to release a powerful video today, but only some would understand why it is powerful.
