Tonight, Nia Long shared some sad news to the public. As the world is still in disbelief over Kobe Bryant and his daughter dying, Nia Long shared another death. Her father, Doughtry “Doc” Long, the poet, and also father of Sommore, has died.
Nia Long is considered one of the sex symbols of the 1990s. On primetime TV, Nia Long played opposite Will Smith during the fifth season of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” When she returned to films, she played Martin Lawrence’s love interest in Big Momma’s House.
Over the years, Nia Long’s family has been discussed. Though it has been mentioned that Sommore is her sister, it is never has really been a major talking point. But, tonight, the sisters have shared in the loss of their father, with Nia Long sharing this info on her Instagram, just minutes ago.
