For eight years, Russell Westbrook was the number two man, the Robin to Kevin Durant’s Batman. Together, they helped put the Oklahoma City Thunder on the map. The team quickly became contenders and all they know is winning.
However, the wins the Thunder get seem to primarily take place during the regular season. In the eight years the Thunder’s core was together, they only played in one NBA Finals. There, 2012, they lost in a quick five games to the Miami Heat.
Another loss in the playoffs, this time to the Golden State Warriors of 73-9 game, led Kevin Durant to join the team. Since then, sports media has hyped the Westbrook/KD beef and Russell has yet to acknowledge Kevin. At the end of last night’s blowout loss to the Warriors, Russell Westbrook was telling his teammates to “don’t say what’s up to that b*tch a** n*gga.”
