Rudy Gay will opt out of the final year of his contract with the Sacramento Kings to become a free agent

For whatever reason, the Sacramento Kings can’t get it together. When looking at the roster of players, over the past eight years, it has to be their problem. But, this past season, the Kings simply gave up and traded their franchise player.

The Kings drafted DeMarcus Cousins, Tyreke Evans, and Isaiah Thomas over the years. Seeing what Cousins and Thomas have put down, that would be a revisit to the Chris Webber era. Then, adding in the likes of both Tyreke Evans and Rudy Gay gives the Warriors a real threat.

Instead, Rudy Gay is the last player on the Sacramento Kings roster of note. Now, he is looking to test the waters, as he is opting out of his final year with the Kings. Rudy Gay will now test the free agency market, where several teams will have interest in him.
