Rowdy Rebel Shows Childhood Friend, Bobby Shmurda, Love as He Waits For Him To Get Out of Prison at The End of This Year – “I Thank God I Got a Friend Like You I Could Call a Brother”

Hip-Hop fans are anxiously waiting the release of Brooklyn rapper, Bobby Shmurda, from prison. He is scheduled to be out in December after being incarcerated since December 2014 for commit murder, reckless endangerment, and drug and gun possession. His GS9 label mate, Rowdy Rebel, was hit with conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon charges. Rowdy was released last December.

Rowdy has now taken to his Instagram feed to shout out his best friend as he waits for his freedom. He praised him as being like a family member to him and being genuine since they were in elementary school.

“I wouldn’t be here RN if yu Haven’t been the same genuine person I meet in elementary…. I never Seen yu fold or bend through treacherous time’s 🤫always thinking Nd doing for others. I thank god I got a friend like you I could call a brother 💯I love yu like yu My Mama Kids ….see yu soon kid💙#stillfreegs9 #freeskrap1090 #IloveAllMyN*ggas”

At the time of the case, Bobby ended up accepting a seven-year sentence as opposed to five so Rowdy could avoid getting 12 years. Bobby was almost released on parole last fall but that was denied. That was reportedly due to previous violations in prison such as fighting and sneaking in a shank.

Bobby originally took off as a star with his breakout hit single, “Hot N*gga,” in 2014. That record went on to peak at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 1 on the Billboard US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. He and Rowdy also had a buzzing record together in “Computers.”
