Rod Wave has been one of the biggest breakout stars in hip-hop over the last year and a half. It all started back in late 2019 when he put out his debut studio album, ‘Ghetto Gospel,’ as that peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. Last April, the St. Petersberg, FL rapper put out his ‘Pray 4 Love‘ album which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
Now, Wave is letting it known that he is having some issues with Alamo Records regarding getting paid. He also emphasized that no new music is coming until this happens. Alamo is home to other artists such as Lil Durk, Smokepurpp, WIFISFUNERAL, and more.
“Pussy ass label playing wit a n**** shit I ain’t dropping s*it f*ck ya pay me,” said Wave in his Instagram stories. Y’all wanna album ask @alamorecords.”
Public beefs between rappers and record labels is very common as things always end up working themselves out or become strained relationships. Hopefully, this isn’t the case for Wave and Alamo. Fans would definitely love to hear another hot album from Wave in 2021.
